Parsons currently has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join its growing organization in the Minneapolis, MN office.  The Human Resources Coordinator will work directly for the Human Resources Manager providing administrative and transactional support in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and staffing, training and development, benefits, policy and procedure compliance, organizational development, and performance management.  The primary responsibilities of the Human Resources Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the recruiting process for exempt and non-exempt employees.  Ensures positions are posted according to procedure, reviews resumes and applications and shares with the management staff, coordinates advertising with the media, and assists with the interviewing of job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Assists in benefits administration to include communicating benefit information to employees, enrolls employees and processes changes to their status, maintains employee benefits files, investigates and resolves problems in conjunction with benefits plan carriers and/or service programmers. Assists in preparing materials and in presenting benefit plan changes to employees.
  • Reviews, reconciles and approves monthly invoices from insurance providers for payment.
  • Reconciles weekly employee contributions to FSA and HSA for transfer to plan administrator.
  • Maintains records and compiles statistical reports as required by Federal, State, and City Agencies including, but limited to EEO-1 report, Vets-100a report, and MN Annual Compliance Report.
  •  Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Maintains Company organization charts.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Monitors for compliance to Federal, State, and local laws and company policies.
  • Composes and prepares letters, memos, correspondence, etc., using work processing software.
  • Compiles and prepares reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Requirement:  (1) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related field, plus minimum of 2 years of human resources experience; or (2) Associates Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related field plus minimum of 4 years of human resources experience.  Or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with employment laws, labor relations and practices including: EEOC, AAP, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, and related state and federal regulations.
  • Expert in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required and willingness to learn other software programs as needed.
