Parsons currently has an excellent opportunity for a motivated Service Project Engineer to join our growing organization in our Minneapolis office.  The Service Project Engineer is an entry level position, primarily responsible for assisting Service Project Managers in estimating, on-site surveys, document management, material procurement, shop drawing management, and to provide quality service to all clients.  This position is a training ground opportunity for someone that desires to become an electrical service/special projects project manager.  Energetic, self starter with a desire to learn while working in a fast pace environment is a must. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in directing and supervising activities of assigned projects to achieve performance for quantity and quality of work.  This includes on-site training, scheduling, establishing goals and standards.
• Assist in ensuring that assigned jobs or contracts are fulfilled to the customer’s satisfaction and the company has earned a fair profit.
• Assist in planning assigned projects to optimize efficiency of labor, material, supplies, equipment and tools.
• Help manage, plan, coordinate, and control all assigned and obtained project activities within budget guidelines to provide the maximum profit while delivering on promises to customers.
• Keep informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques and practices.
• Promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public.
• Provide quality service to all clients.
• Assist in completing all bids, documents and reports in an accurate, complete and professional manner.
• Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education:  Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, construction management or similar discipline or equivalent relative job experience.

• Experience:  Minimum three (3) years experience in the electrical construction field preferred.

Successful candidates will possess:

• Good knowledge of conduit methods, wiring methods, control wiring and NEC.
• Good knowledge of electrical construction industry.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Superior customer service skills to work efficiently and effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project, and electronic estimating software.
• Valid driver’s license required.
