Parsons currently has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Process Analyst to join its growing organization in the Minneapolis, MN office.  The first major initiative for the Business Process Analyst will be our ASTEA software implementation.  ASTEA is a service-delivery software which we are configuring for use across 12 unique business units.  ASTEA allows us to process all our service work orders electronically from start to finish.  Once ASTEA is fully implemented (12-18+ months), other business improvement initiatives will be prioritized for the Business Process Analyst.

 

The Business Process Analyst will take a key role in continuous improvement in Parsons’ business processes.

 

The primary responsibilities of the Business Process Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand the relationship between customers and Parsons’ business units, finding ways to measurably improve the customer experience
  • Develop a keen understanding of how business flows through all of Parsons’ business units – as it does today and imagining what could be more efficient with process improvements
  • Ability to show value of process improvement (sell the change) by clearly communicating with stakeholders and documenting  business processes
  • Own the Quality and Efficiency of all ASTEA processing
  • Process improvements - identify opportunities, gain business support for change, scope and document new flow, harness resources for making the change
  • Manage the implementation readiness plans (goals, activities, assignments, schedule).  We are anticipating 4 “waves” for implementation, Dec. 2014 – Summer 2015.
  • Own training for software –
    • Program contents:  user acceptance tester training, implementation roll-out training, on-going enhancements
    • Experience as trainer/presenter helpful
  • Drive adoption and employee engagement with software
    • Develop business stakeholders who will help drive this process
    • The Business Process Analyst is the initiator and facilitator – business stakeholders help keep the process alive and growing
  • On-going - work closely with business stakeholders to ensure they are efficiently taking advantage of all features in ASTEA that benefit their business
  • Establish clear goals for software implementation – get support and buy-in from business divisions
  • From these goals, develop and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for our change to electronic flow for service delivery (using ASTEA).
  • Learn and understand all operations of software
  • Maintain documentation of all process flows
  • Manage all configuration settings in ASTEA
  • Understand how to perform all necessary data loads.  If necessary, engage help from IT to perform data loads.
  • Technical integration with eCMS
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with integration and project-manage the solution with vendor(s)

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, construction management, accounting, or IT or similar discipline preferred or equivalent relative job experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience

 

Successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Has a passion for software
  • Wants to partner with field and office users to drive engagement
  • Proficient with regard to:  documentation of business processes, maintaining detailed project schedules and organizing project tasks in logical, efficient manner.  Strong document management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently.  Highly accountable to timelines and schedule management.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Team player, expressing a professional image and positive attitude.
  • Helpful, but not mandatory
    • Experience with ASTEA Alliance software
    • Knows how business flows through Parsons and has a passion to improve flows
    • Knowledge of construction industry beneficial
