We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Minneapolis office for a motivated Electrical Designer with solid electrical background and Revit experience.  The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Designer include electrical design using company standard software programs, quality control, problem resolution, coordination, job communication, job tracking, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide the power, lighting and systems design services of each project as assigned to achieve performance for quantity and quality of work.
• Plan all projects to optimize efficiency of labor, material, supplies, equipment and tools.
• Keep informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques and practices.

• Specify materials in a planned and coordinated manner. Work with the Project Manager to provide the most competitive selections.
• Survey job sites as needed for scope of work and quality to determine the compliance with the prepared documents.
• Attend Job Start-up meetings with Project Manager and other design staff to assign tasks, responsibilities and schedule project design.
• Prepare project documents, material specifications, client information, project schedules, closeout documents, and maintenance manuals in a timely and accurate manner to give customers good value and ensure company profitability.
• Prepare and monitor change orders to be sure they are accurate and conveyed to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
• Provide BIM services as needed due to workload.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.

Qualifications:

• Education:  Minimum two (2) year degree in Electrical Design or similar discipline.
• Experience:  Minimum five (5) years of electrical design experience with proven skills using Revit software.

Successful candidate will possess:

• Computer skills required in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, AGI, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Life Safety Codes.
• Proficient with fundamentals of power, lighting, and systems design.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand electrical and technologies plans and specifications.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Effective communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills with the ability to be adaptable to our customers’ needs.
