We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Project Superintendent to join our growing organization in our Minneapolis, MN office.  The Project Superintendent is primarily responsible to oversee the successful execution of all labor activities on assigned Company projects in accordance with Company policies and procedures, as well as applicable union bargaining agreements. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execution of the Project LifeCycle Checklist.
  • Execute PEAK program on assigned projects to include: job walks; installations efficiency review; foreman selection; hiring and terminations; workforce coordination and scheduling; project schedule review; review labor projections per project and local jurisdiction; and calculate and monitor average labor rates and make proactive adjustments if costs exceed targeted goals
  • Maintain professionalism with customers, subcontractors, vendors, project managers, office, and field staff.
  • Coordinate labor on assigned projects and assist foremen in the movement of electricians on and off jobs for out-of-town projects. In the Twin Cities, work with the foremen to coordinate labor on assigned projects and assist the Twin Cities Labor Manager in the movement of electricians on and off jobs.
  • Perform workforce projections.
  • Calculate the cost of labor, maintain average labor rates, and JW/Apprentice ratios that reflect the goals of the Company.
  • Work with the field operations team to select foremen for projects based on the job specifics and the experience and background of the foremen.
  • Address field human resource issues as they arise and involve the necessary resources, i.e. VP of Field Operations and Twin Cities Labor Manager as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relations and open communications with project managers, foremen, field, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Assemble and distribute project startup kits for tools and materials.
  • Labor management relations in regards to collective bargaining agreements.
  • Maintain on-going communications with business managers and other officials of local IBEW unions.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent with additional trade school or college courses primarily in the electrical field. Additional training in communication, management, supervisory, computer technology, and business required.
  • Required: State electrical license
  • Experience:  Minimum ten (10) years experience in the electrical construction field preferred.

 

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Good knowledge of electrical construction industry.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
  • Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
