We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our ecs Division in our Coon Rapids office.  The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for managing the project from its inception including the process involved in design-build or design-assist delivery. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with the direction and supervision of each project to achieve performance for quantity and quality of work. This includes on-site training, scheduling, and establishing goals and standards.
• Ensure that all jobs or contracts are fulfilled to the customer’s satisfaction.
• Assist with the planning of all projects to optimize efficiency of labor, material, supplies, equipment and tools.
• Keep informed of new electrical and fire codes, technology, techniques and practices.
• Promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
• Provide quality service to all clients. Return phone calls or emails promptly.
• Complete all bids, documents and reports in an accurate, complete and professional manner.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with other employees of the company.
• Ensure that all government and company requirements relating to safety, health and the environment are strictly adhered to and enforced.
• Secure materials in a planned and coordinated manner working with the purchasing department to reduce the risk of material price fluctuation.
• Secure subcontractors utilizing standard subcontract agreements binding them to terms similar to our contract requires thereby assigning the appropriate risk.
• Travel as necessary.
• Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company.

Qualifications:

• Education:  High school diploma or equivalent with trade or college electrical management schooling required. College degree in electrical management or electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience:  Minimum two (2) years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager for an electrical or fire contractor, or; Minimum of five (5) years of field experience for an electrical or fire contractor.

Successful candidate will possess:

• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Project, and electronic estimating software.
• Valid driver’s license required.
