We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Prefab Coordinator to join our growing organization in our Fargo, ND office. The Prefab Coordinator is responsible for assigned portions of projects under the direction of the Prefabrication Manager/Senior Project Manager. These duties include the creation of prefabrication drawings, production scheduling, drawing quality control, collaboration with field leadership on efficient prefabrication components, problem resolution, coordination of fabrication components with job specific design elements and other disciplines, and client satisfaction activities at MEI Electric. The Prefab Coordinator is responsible for managing the assigned portion of the project from inception through completion. The primary responsibilities of a Prefab Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Review design drawings on each assigned project to develop and identify prefab design, prefab plan, best practices and other opportunities to increase efficiencies and production to our projects.
- Design wiring methods collaborated with prefab manager to develop prefab assemblies to meet the needs of the project.
- Create circuitry plans which align with the prefab design and plan.
- Plan all projects to optimize efficiency of labor, material, supplies, equipment and tools as it pertains to the prefabrication process.
- Complete 2D and 3D drafting tasks utilizing company standard software.
- Blue beam software will be required to be used on prefab design, prefab assemblies and other applications as necessary.
- Keep informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques and practices.
- Survey job sites as needed for scope of work and quality to determine the compliance with the prefab design and plan.
- Project follows up; confirm field drawings and prefab designs are meeting the field’s expectations and installation schedules.
- Attend Job Start-Up meetings with project manager, prefab manager, senior project manager and other project team members to assign tasks, responsibilities and prepare and schedule prefab design and plan.
- Monitor change orders which impact the prefab design to confirm they are accurate and conveyed to their manager in a timely manner.
- Set up Bluebeam Studio Session hyperlinks. Update Bluebeam Studio as needed with general contractor blueprint changes, PlanGrid (field) changes and monitor onsite notepad for change to paper prints.
- Create prefabrication drawings by combining importing power, data, lighting, security symbols onto a single print. Check architectural drawings for elevations wall types. Identify and indicate prefabrication assemblies on fabrication drawings. Layout conduit and MC pathways based on predetermined standards.
- Review and resolve any prefab drawing issues such as incomplete engineering prints, and undocumented changes.
- Set up lighting controls with hyperlinks, light zone callout, and relay identification.
- Visit project sites to review progress of prefabrication installation and discuss any improvements and/or modifications necessary to maintain efficiencies in installation.
- Schedule reoccurring meetings with project leadership to obtain feedback on prefabrication process.
- Sketch up visuals of panel layout, electrical room layout and assembly examples for field verification.
- Support and comply with planning standards by the Company
- Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education & Experience Requirement: High School Diploma with trade or two (2) year degree in Electrical Design or related field. Or any similar combination of education and experience.
Successful candidates will possess:
- Proficient with Bluebeam, Excel and Word.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and AGI programs preferred.
- Proficient and current on the National Electrical Code and Life Safety Codes.
- Proficient with power, lighting and lighting control systems design.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
- Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
