We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Part Time Estimator to join our growing organization in our Duluth, MN office.  The Estimator is primarily responsible for job estimating, job scheduling, problem resolution, coordination, and client satisfaction activities at Parsons Electric. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Direct and supervise activities of projects for quantity and accuracy of work. This includes performing estimates, training, scheduling, establishing goals and standards.
• Ensure that estimates and RFP’s are fulfilled to the customer’s or Parsons’ satisfaction.
• Plan project take off’s to optimize efficiency of labor.
• Manage, plan, coordinate, and control all assigned estimates to maximum time while delivering on promises to customers and coworkers.
• Keep informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques and practices.
• Survey job sites as needed for scope of work and to determine the most cost effective and efficient plan possible.
• Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules, and other documentation to assure a steam of information to the Project Manager.
• Promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public.
• Follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company.

Qualifications:

• Education:  Two (2) year degree in electrical construction or similar discipline required with Bachelor’s degree in construction management or electrical engineering preferred.

• Experience:  Minimum five (5) years experience in estimating for an electrical contractor preferred.

Successful candidate will possess:

• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Project and electronic estimating software. Accubid software experience preferred.
