We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Payroll Specialist to join our growing organization in our Minneapolis office. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for entry of employee data changes, input data from weekly timesheets, audit and submit union benefit payments, track and submit certified payroll reports, scan and archive payroll related documents. The primary responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Enter all facets of employee maintenance into HRMS system.
  • Analyzes and inputs data from time sheets or individual time cards to computerized payroll system for weekly payroll.
  • Ensure employee wages are paid in accordance with all applicable collective bargaining agreements.
  • Respond timely to field/employee inquiries.
  • Follows all procedures relating to terminations, leave of absence, etc.
  • Track and submit certified reports to ensure compliance for prevailing wage jobs.
  • Audit and submit assigned monthly union reports.
  • Scan and archive payroll related documents.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma required with a Two-Year degree in Accounting, Business Management, Administration, or FPC or CPP certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in accounting, business management, administration, or as a Payroll Specialist.

 

Successful candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with payroll software and systems in general. Experience with eCMS preferred.
  • Ability to work well and effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as work as part of a team when required.
  • Ability to express a professional image and positive attitude.
  • Strong document management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is beneficial.
